The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has launched its first-ever Innovation Challenge, bringing together serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and Information Technology (IT) students to develop digital tools aimed at improving office operations and driving nationwide scalability.
The participants showcased innovative projects built on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain technologies, competing for top spots in the challenge tagged Innovation Challenge 1.0.
At the end of the competition, six teams emerged as winners, receiving cash prizes and a promise of startup support for all 23 participating teams. Team X clinched the top position, earning recognition for their outstanding innovation.
The challenge, according to NITDA, is part of ongoing efforts to nurture young innovators capable of designing homegrown digital solutions. It also aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of training one million technical talents across the country to drive Nigeria’s digital economy agenda.
